For nearly 90 years, the Preston family grew flowers – primarily the majestic and elegant gladiolus – on the property. Thousands of colorful blooms graced the landscape every year, benefitting from proximity to Sarasota Bay and the Gulf. The deep-rooted ties of the family to the land show in their commitment to transforming part of their farmland into a place that future generations will cherish. Today, we honor the legacy of the family and the land by calling this very special place SeaFlower.
SeaFlower celebrates the heritage and authentic character of old Florida towns. The design is inspired by best practices of traditional neighborhood developments, including narrow roads, slower traffic, trails and pocket parks, and creating opportunities to build real relationships with neighbors. At its heart, the vibrant SeaFlower Village Center anchors the community alongside the breathtaking Lake Flores and its central lakefront park and trail, creating a mixed-use village that promotes walkability, connectivity, outdoor engagement, and an active, social lifestyle for homeowners at every stage of life.
As the social centerpiece of SeaFlower, Lake Flores, its surrounding lakefront park and the resident amenities at The Garden Club serve as a community hub for neighborhood meet-ups at the Clubhouse, morning workouts and pickleball games, evening concerts on the lawn, or weekend playdates with the kids.
