The Art of Living at SeaFlower: The Garden Club and the Director Bringing It to Life

Imagine starting the morning with a walk along the Lake Flores Trail, joining a fitness class overlooking the lawn, and lingering afterward to talk with a neighbor you have just met. Later, children race toward the play area while friends make plans for an evening gathering by the lake. Active mornings. Relaxed afternoons. Connected evenings.

Celebrations, learning, play, and spending time together. The spaces make moments like these possible. The people, programming, and thoughtful details make them feel like SeaFlower.

That is the vision behind The Garden Club, SeaFlower’s private resident amenity campus along the shores of Lake Flores. More than a collection of amenities, it is where SeaFlower’s vision for connected coastal living will have a home — and where the art of living can take shape in ways that are active or easygoing, social or restorative, planned or spontaneous.

The Garden Club: The Social Centerpiece for Community Life

The Garden Club is envisioned as SeaFlower’s social hub, but its value is greater than any single building or amenity. Its indoor and outdoor spaces form a foundation for community life, giving residents places to move, gather, learn, celebrate, work, play, or simply unwind.

Plumeria Hall supports everyday connection with comfortable social areas, a demonstration and catering kitchen, a covered veranda, and a conference room for meetings or remote work. Gathering Hall provides room for clubs, HOA meetings, birthdays, anniversaries, and other resident occasions, with indoor and covered outdoor spaces designed to work together.

Wellness and recreation take many forms – from the fitness center and dedicated studio to the adjacent lawn, to the zero-entry resort-style pool with lap lanes, sun shelves, spa and covered cabanas. Four pickleball courts offer opportunities for friendly competition, while the children’s play area provides a welcoming space for children to play, explore and enjoy being outdoors. The event lawn and amphitheater will host concerts, movie nights, festivals, and other community gatherings, while the lakeside firepit offers a quieter place to end the day with family or friends.

The Garden Club provides the setting. The Art of Living Director helps give it rhythm, personality, and relevance — connecting spaces with experiences, and experiences with the people who will make them their own.

Meet SeaFlower’s Art of Living Director

Maria “Ria” Dandy is SeaFlower’s Art of Living Director, leading the community’s lifestyle programming and creating opportunities for residents to connect. Already a familiar face to many homeowners from her time as a Community Relations Ambassador at the SeaFlower Welcome Center, Ria brings a personal understanding of the community and its residents to her new role.

Ria will develop a year-round calendar of classes, workshops, social gatherings, educational opportunities, wellness programs, and signature events. She will also welcome new residents, invite residents to share their interests, encourage feedback, and help residents create clubs, volunteer opportunities, and traditions of their own.

Ria brings decades of hospitality and guest-services expertise to the position, including eight years of leadership and training experience at Walt Disney World, where she supported opening operations at EPCOT during a period of park expansion. Combined with her recent work directly with SeaFlower homeowners, that background gives her a valuable perspective on creating welcoming environments, coordinating memorable experiences, and helping people feel at home.

Whether joining a class, starting a club, attending a seasonal celebration, or simply enjoying time with neighbors, residents can participate in ways that reflect their interests and lifestyles. The goal is to help everyone find their own way to connect, build friendships, and feel at home at SeaFlower.

A Lifestyle Shaped With Residents, Not Just For Them

Ria’s approach to resident programming begins with the people who make SeaFlower special. By building on relationships and conversations that are already happening she can learn about residents and develop programming that reflects the community’s evolving lifestyle.

Resident feedback will help shape everything from recurring clubs and classes to educational programs, wellness experiences, family activities, and larger seasonal events. To this role, Ria brings a personal understanding of the people who will help make those experiences meaningful — including the interests, ideas, and enthusiasm that can inspire clubs and traditions unique to SeaFlower.

“One of the most rewarding parts of being a Community Relations Ambassador was watching visitors become buyers, then seeing those buyers become residents, friends and neighbors,” Ria says. “I’ve had the opportunity to get to know almost every SeaFlower resident, so I’m especially excited to foster those relationships and create experiences that bring people together.”

That continuity gives residents a meaningful voice in shaping community life. It also reflects an important part of SeaFlower’s vision: building a connected community through shared experiences, lasting relationships and opportunities to get involved. For prospective homebuyers it offers a glimpse of a lifestyle defined not only by the places being created, but by the people and experience that make SeaFlower home.

Come Experience the SeaFlower Life

At SeaFlower, walkability, parks, trails, amenities, and the SeaFlower Village Center are designed to make connection part of the everyday rhythm. The Garden Club gives that vision a place to unfold. Ria’s role is to help residents make it their own — through the interests they share, the traditions they create, and the many ways they choose to participate.

The result is a lifestyle that can be active or easygoing, social or restorative, planned or spontaneous. It is a morning workout that becomes a conversation. A family event that becomes a tradition. A casual introduction that becomes a friendship.

That is the art of living at SeaFlower — and it is only beginning to bloom.
